“Sometimes I wonder if my father had not been an architect, what my destiny would have been.
If I had chosen another profession or if this was my path, regardless.
It’s true: he always inspired me as a child… Then at some point, he wanted me to study law, another subject he loved very much.
But it wasn’t for me.
The drawing, to see projects grow and take shape… There is nothing more beautiful!
So, being an architect, in one way or another, was really my life path.
Now here in the Netherlands, I work mostly for expats... I am one of them too and anyone who knows me, understands how much I suffered living in a small flat that didn’t reflect me in anything.
My approach towards the new life changed when I designed and built my house, totally tailored on me… Sometimes opposing my husband on certain choices.
But in the end, he looked around with wonder and he admired me so much, because I had achieved something that was beyond his imagination.
Then he rediscovered the person I was, determined and self confident, who was surely more happy to feel at home in her new house, away from her loved Italy.”
